Westpointe NY15AH
Oil-Filled Convection Radiator Electric Heater Review
This winter has definitely been a cold one, once December and January rolled aroud, with low temps and 20 below wind chill factors. I continued to raise my thermostat in order to get my house warm, but nothing was working. I set my thermostat at 85 and the temperature was not going above 65 degrees. Using the oven for heat is dangerous so that was not an option.
My only choice, at this point, was to get an electric heater, which I did not delight in since I am afraid of them due to home fires during winter months because of electric heaters. Most fires are due to the improper use of electric heaters and using the household extension cord.
I have never used the Midea International Westpointe NY15AH Oil-Filled Convection Radiator Heater or any other oil filled radiator heater. I do know someone who has in the past and other person who uses one currently. One person told me that their electric bill went through the roof. The second person loves theirs and that they use it in their living room. I also don’t relish the idea of having my gas bill being $350 or more when I am still cold. I don’t care for fans, and I don’t like those infrared heating coils, so I opted for the Westpointe NY15AH Oil-Filled Convection Radiator Heater. I love it!!!

Controls
There is a power knob that turns the power on and off, as well as 3 power level settings.
- Convection radiator electric heater has 3 heat settings for power; 600W, 900W & 1500W
- Heat setting from min to maximum with a built-in thermostat maintains temperature setting. What you do is set your heat settings for 600W, 900W or 1500W, and set your heating at maximum. (I started with 900W and maximum for heat. I was heating 3 rooms with approximately 500 square feet and 8 foot ceilings. Inside of 4 hours, my house temperature went from 62 degrees to 72 degrees.
- Once you are nice and toasty, simply lower your power level setting, and turn youheating control knob, counterclockwise, from max to when you hear a click. Once you hear the click, you have now set your built-in thermostat in order to maintain the room temperature. You can always change it if temperatures outside drop and you feel that you need to increase the heat. I have not had a lot of readjusting to do.
- Castor wheels for easy maneuverability is the only assembly that you need to do. No tools are required. Takes about 5 minutes to do.
- Automatic shut off if it is tipped over and the red caution light comes on if there may be other problems as well.

Is it economical!
I have not received a new electric bill, so I cannot provide my results. I have checked on various reviews where users say that they have seen very little, if any, increase to their electric.
I have not received a new gas bill yet. However, my house is set up as a duplex, and I occupy the 2nd floor. I have 4 thermostats for the entire building and the downstairs is colder than it is upstairs.
However, I have not had to increase my thermostat settings for my furnace since buying this Midea International Westpointe NY15AH Oil-Filled Convection Radiator Heater.
Once the cold spell hits with the below freezing wind chills and temps of less than 32 degrees, my heating costs are pretty consistent with my cost of gas each month until it begins to warm up.
My utility cost review.
I only have one electric bill to compare my first bill using this heater. After having frozen pipes, I moved the heater to my utility room where the frozen pipes were found, and exposed to outside temperatures because the draft goes through the door which is an outside door. My electric bill doubled. However, since the utility room is drafty, the settings on the heater were higher than when I used it inside my house.
